I'd like your thoughts on our name choices please...

Hello

DC2 is due in August and we don't know whether we are having a boy or a girl. DD is called Arabel Marguerite. We have a few family names that we are 'stuck' with and are now considering possibilities that go with these. It's been really hard to find names we agree on (thanks to Myleene, DC2 has dodged DH's first choice of Hero!) and I'd appreciate your thoughts:

Emmeline Hope
Adelaide Hope (nn Ada)

George Arthur Hastings (ka Arthur)
Sie(g)fried Hastings George (I know, it's a bit odd)
Rafe Hastings George

Any thoughts? Any other ideas appreciated!

Adelaide is a fantastic name , is it too similar to Arabel though? I really like Emmeline as well.

Not keen on George but I do like Arthur.

I taught a delightful child named Siegfried once who was universally known as Ziggy. It certainly set him apart from the substantial number of children named Oliver and Thomas. He loved it too. I love the name Adelaide and don't think it is too similar to Arabel. Emmeline is also lovely. Not sure about Rafe. Actually just not sure about the spelling. Otherwise, it's a terrific name.

why would you call him George Arthur but call him Arthur though? Why not just call him Arthur George?

not keen on Emmeline at all sorry - for me it sounds like two other names have been merged because you couldn't decide! Love Rafe!

Rafe Hastings George - don't like, Rafe too pretentious (not sure why Siegfried doesn't give that impression, maybe because I've never heard of any present-day person called Siegfried!)

I like Emmeline Hope. Don't like any of the boys' names at all, sorry.

If you go for Rafe, it's better with the proper spelling Ralph, but still pronounced Rafe.

All the others are lovely, but if George Arthur is going to be known as Arthur, then reverse the names.

I really like your girls names.

Don't put George on the BC and then call your baby Arthur. It is confusing. Siegfried is weird, yes. And Rafe is a bit annoying.
