Is Florence nice or hideous?

It just popped into my head and won't go away but I can't tell if it's awful .

I think it is awful. Lots of them about though so I must be in a minority.

Neither. It's strong and it's attractive, with a 'pretty' option of nn Flora.

to be honest, I think the fashion for soft pretty girly names is over now. I think Florence, Beatrice, Constance, Harriet..... that sounds right now.

I am not a big fan, only because there are lots round here
and the nn Flora has bad connotations, when I was at school this is what we used to call 'easy' girls - because it spreads easily
