Ethel - it's old lady taken too far apparently, but I think it's prettier than some of them
Melanie - dated but so pretty
Bethany - only on mumsnet is it frowned upon. Beautiful bible name
Jemma - lovely name which doesn't get 'love' on mn

BornAgainDomesticGoddess · 03/04/2011 10:05

Ella. I love this name, but it's far too common Sad

CammieP · 03/04/2011 10:42

I love Tiffany, but everyone else just thinks 'Eastenders'!

asdx2 · 03/04/2011 10:54

I love Noah, Max, Toby, and Rory but dh can't abide any of them.

I also like Susannah, Penelope and Marguerite even though I prefer short names and Merryn and Romilly which are so not me Grin

saltyseadog · 03/04/2011 10:58

Ptolemy

BuntyPenfold · 03/04/2011 13:05

What is supposed to be wrong with Merryn and Romllly? Nice names imo.

I like Halcyon for a girl, but I admit it would be considered weird.

Hepzibah is one of mine as well, very lovely, and have been very tempted to use it as a middle name!

I also quite like Ruzena, Ulyssa, Calanthe...Winifred also probably fits in the girls names I lquite like but wonder if it would be bad to use.

For boys, probably Franklin, Frang (the scottish of Francis), and Zakiah/Zakah.

MillsAndDoom · 03/04/2011 13:27

DN has got the name that I would have loved to give DS only it didn't work with our surname, but I'm in the same camp as lockets - if I like a name I like it.

freesias · 03/04/2011 13:38

notjust also tempted by winnifred (winnie is really sweet )and augusta

Bathsheba

FattyAcid · 03/04/2011 14:05

I love lots of foreign sounding names - in particular boys names - that would sound stupid with my english surname and lack of foreign ancestory eg Marco Raphael Giovanni

freesias · 03/04/2011 14:27

i love gladys and would have happily used it had dh not said over my dead body.

Little girl over the road is Bluebell, I love it!

My DDs have unusual but traditional names. I have a secret hankering after hippy/nature names.

Gertiegoolash · 03/04/2011 19:02

Gertie, have always loved it but would never use it.

Gertiegoolash · 03/04/2011 19:03

was going to add, thats why I used it as my nickname Grin

turkeyboots · 03/04/2011 19:08

Always wanted Sage for a boy, but DH went grey at the suggestion.

AKissIsNotAContract · 03/04/2011 19:11

Jonah - love the name but has connotations of jinx.

Happymummy2011 · 03/04/2011 19:15

ZombieComforts · 03/04/2011 19:16

Bunty nothing wrong at all I love them but they are so different to the names I chose for my lot that my family would be astounded that I'd so much as consider them.

websticks · 03/04/2011 21:44

Tuesday and autumn

Janoschi · 03/04/2011 23:02

Topsy.
