I really like the name Philippa and love the nn Pippa, but cant stand 'Phyl' as a nn, so that is holding me back a bit

Really like Alice and Lucia as well

Already have an Oliver and an Edward.

Any other suggestions along those lines? or opinions on the 3 on my list?

I loathe Alice
dislike Philippa, although quite like Pippa
love Lucia!

Alice and Phillipa are both lovely.
Don't like Lucia at all and again I'm never sure how to pronounce it - prefer Lucy.

My DD (age 5) is Philippa - she is called Pippa, Pippi, Pips and Pipsy at home but Philippa at school and by others. We love it and I wouldn't let anyone call her Phyl either! YUK! No one has tried BTW!

I was at school with 4 Philippas they were called Flip, Phili, Pippa and Philippa!

I actually really like Phil as a nickname for Philippa and am not so keen on Pippa but this may be because I know a particularly irritating one. Alice is a lovely name and goes best with your DSs names IMO, may be quite popular though. I think with Lucia there will also be confusion about pronounciation.

Phyl is usually a nick name for Phyllis, so you'll be ok with that. Alice is a beuatiful classic name. Agree that Lucia is fine if you have italian heritage.

A friend just called her baby Phillipa, shortening it to Pippa.

The spelling of it can be a pain though - loads of people get it wrong!

Lucia, the italian way is one I am thinking of. OH is of Italian origins and our surname is italian so I figure I can.
