Hiya
Very excited about having my DD...but really need some help with names!
Please rate these...I am naming her after family so have decided on two middle names, one needs to start with 'L' and the other 'M'.
Other suggestions also v welcome as I'm getting confused about which middle names go with the four first names I love!
Thanks xx

Sophia Lily Mirella
Sophia Lily Madeleine
Sophia Lily Maya
Sophia Liana-May
Sophia Lily Mila
Lily Madeleine
Isabella Madison Lily
Isabella Lucia May
Isabella Lauren May
Charlotte Madeleine Lily

I like Lily Madeleine.

If not, then Sophia Lily May (prefer May here to Maya - Maya seems not to flow very well).

amummyinwaiting · 27/03/2011 14:39

Charlotte is lovely but Lily Madeliene sounds nice too.
I'm not so keen on: Mila or Lucia but I think they all sound really nice.
Realise now that I have been no help at all!
Of the top four I would say Sophia Liana-May as May is a beautiful name.

I love Sophia Liana-May. Very pretty.

randomimposter · 27/03/2011 15:15

Sophia is very nice as is Isabella.

Personally find Lily a bit wet. Also think hyphens a bit "look at me".

Of the exact options you've given I would pick...
Isabella Lucia May.

mumofeach · 27/03/2011 18:41

Thanks for your help... also really like Madeleine Lily and Kourtney Lily Maddison
Appreciate your help with this x

Isabella Lucia May is my favourite of the list.

Really dislike Madison and Kourtney, sorry. Courtney is bad but Kourtney is even worse imho.

budgieshell · 27/03/2011 18:58

Isabella lauren may. That is with out doubt the best. You can say it quickly with tripping over the names, it's a great name.

Galena · 27/03/2011 19:36

Not Kourtney, please! She'd forever be spelling her name! And Maddison equally...

mumofeach · 27/03/2011 19:39

Kourtney with a c maybe?! Hmm maybe I'll stick with my original names :)

I like Sophia best but not sure which of the middle name combo works best. I actually like Sophia Lily May, although that is not one of the given options.

mumofeach · 27/03/2011 19:42

Hulababy thks - I also thought Sophia lily may but wasn't sure lily may sounded a bit common - am I wrong?

OP posts:
Hulababy · 27/03/2011 19:55

May is quite a popular, well used middle name, but it is also a classic name. Sophia is very pretty. Lily is also a nice name. I think they sound good together.

Most of the time she will be just Sophia anyway.

mumofeach · 27/03/2011 20:44

Yes exactly - prob concentrating too much on how the middle names sous rather than first and surname! Sensible advice thanks

lottiejenkins · 27/03/2011 20:49

Charlotte Madeline Lily............. But as you can see by name im biased! Wink

Ephiny · 27/03/2011 20:54

Sophia Lily May is lovely IMO, I don't think it's 'common' at all, very elegant in fact. Also like Isabella Lauren May from your list.

I think Courteney is OK but definitely wouldn't spell it with a K, that just looks weird.

mumofeach · 27/03/2011 20:54

thanks lottie! its nice to see you love your pretty name :)

OP posts:
mumofeach · 27/03/2011 20:56

Thanks Ephiny...would you say Sophia Lily May is nicer than Sophia Liana May? I played with Sophia Lauren May too...love it but was worried that too Sofia Loren copy cat?

OP posts:
activate · 27/03/2011 20:57

all lovely first names

the middle names will never be used apart from on birth certificates or when you are telling off your child Grin

mumofeach · 27/03/2011 20:58

Yes activate...have discovered that with my DS!!! not sure why I' driving myself so mad over this!!

itsalarf · 27/03/2011 21:01

How about Sophia Lily Mary, as there are so many May names around? Or Sophia Lauren Mary?

openerofjars · 27/03/2011 21:04

I love Isabella Lucia May.

A liana is a sort of rainforest plant

It rang a bell, so I googled it.

Ephiny · 27/03/2011 21:07

Yes I was thinking Sophia Lauren May would be perfect, then thought it might seem like you were naming her after Sophia Loren! Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it might be annoying it if wasn't what you intended and everyone assumed.

I just thought maybe Lily rather than Liana just because it seems to 'flow' more nicely with the one less syllable when you say it out loud, and you don't have the double 'a' ending. Both are nice though, and as people have said, you're not going to be calling her by the full name very often!

mumofeach · 27/03/2011 21:11

Thanks so much
itsalarf - really appreciate the suggestion but not so keen on mary, sorry

openerofjars - mmm def somethig to think bout re liana!!

Ephiny - wouldn't mind actually as long as it wouldn't seem weird, which I suppose there's no reason why it should!

Further reading shows that a liana is a parasitic rainforest plant that, while it provides aerial walkway for monkeys and other small, non-flying jungle creatures, also badly damages and kills the trees it grows on.

So, not quite up there with Venus Fly Trap as a name, but still not brilliant. I met a little girl called Chanterelle once: lovely name, but unfortunately it is also a kind of mushroom...

Plus, a liana is the thing Tarzan uses to swing through the jungle on, the big idiot.

HTH
