Estelle/a, Hermione, Etienna

Hello! I have been lurking for some time and decided to take the plunge.

I like these names but I have concerns.

Estelle or Estella is either too chavvy

Hermione is too tied up in the Harry Potter connection

And Etienna is a bit weak.

Not many ideas for boys - like Rafe and Will.

I love Hermione and bear in mind that the Harry Potter thing is now over and when the little one gets to school or nursery age it won't have as much to do with HP.

I have two boys, one of which is a Ralph... Rafe was too "London" for my husband... lol

I don't think Estelle/Estella is chavvy. Etienna IS chavvy. Hermione is lovely.

Estelle :D It's my name and I like that it's a bit different. I've only ever met one other one (who was at least 50 years older than me) but it seems to be having a revival on mn!

I like Estelle and Hermione, and agree that the Harry Potter connections will weaken over time. For a boy, I think Rafe or Ralph is lovely, but fear that Will will be teased with Willy.

Estelle, oh I love it won't say why. Not keen on the others but did know an Etienne (boy) and quite like it.

my friend is called Estelle and she is in her 30's the only one i know so its a good name imo

Estelle is okay.

Etienna - don't like this at all.

Rafe - nope.

I love Estella. From Great Expectations. What's chav about it?
Strong yet girly. Shortens to Stella, which is also a very good name.

Hermione too much middle class affectation.

I got Estelle Ann Emily (middle names after relatives) - bit of a mouthful but I don't mind it

Etienna sounds like some forced girlification of the French name Etienne. It's awful, whereas Etienne is lovely

Go with Estelle, it's a beautiful name. Always makes me think of princesses, for some reason! Only problem would be it might be tricky to find a good middle name that fits with it, though that might just be me.

Hermione is pretty, but imagine the poor kid trying to spell it. And having to spell it out to everyone else all the time.

I know an Etienne who is a girl and I think the name is boy or girl. Don't put an 'a' on the end!

I love the name Will, but can't use 'Ralph' or 'Rafe' since someone told me it was the name of some anatomical erm, phenomenon in the vicinity of the penis. Sorry if I got that wrong.
