Eliza as a sister to Leila?

Hi there,

My favourite on our list for a girl is Eliza, I love it! Our dd1 is called Leila (pronounced like Layla), so I do wonder if the two are a bit too similar. What do you think? And would it go alright with Marian as middle name? I think so but am interested to get some more people's opinions. Thanks :-)

I think they go well and are not too similar.

Not too keen on Marian, but ok if it is a family name - Marianne is very pretty though.

Lovely!

IMO I think there are rather too many L's. A bit of a tongue twister when said together, but then they will go off and live their own lives, so use it if you like it. Both lovely names Smile.

both very pretty names but I think they would get muddled as they sound so similar.

Marian was my dh's grandmother's name. Leila's middle name is Angelica after my mum, so the next child should have a name from my husband's family. His mother is called Paula which I don't like at all, but I like Marian so that'll be the one if it's a girl.

think they are both beautiful names and go well together

Tongue twister so not for me. Plus Eliza is everywhere right now so slightly puts me off a name.

Hi, I think they go well. Eliza is at the top of my list and although I have seen quite a few like it on Mumsnet I have yet to meet one (and I have 3 other girls ranging from 10 to 2 so am surrounded by girls on a daily basis!!!).
I know the girl from Eastenders named hers Eliza, which I found out about after posting the name on here, but I'm sure not that many people will think that is my inspiration (and that does put me off a tiny, tiny bit) so I still love the name.
