Rafferty, Hugo or Kit?

We have just found out that I am having a boy and we have no boys names that we really love. We would have had Kitty for a girl.

We like old-fashioned/surfery/quirkey/posh names! (we already have a Daisy).

The names that are in the running so far are...Hugo, Kit and Rafferty but would be interested to hear what people think or if you can think of any other names?

Thank you for your help x

Rafferty is lovely.

winefairy · 21/03/2011 14:09

Kit. I think it stands very nicely just as it is and doesn't need to be short for anything. My favourite out of the three definitely and also sounds the best with Daisy.

NormanNorris · 21/03/2011 15:00

I love Hugo but think Rafferty goes best with Daisy.

Tillylove · 21/03/2011 20:47

Thanks Bornagain - Our girls name was Kitty (although I was always unsure how well it went with Daisy!) I also really like:

Florence
Beatrice
Tabitha
Matilda
Tallulah
Lola
Eliza
Jemima
Betty

Nice names Tillylove. I think I might pinch 'Betty'!

BettyButterknife · 23/03/2011 14:07

Do you like Jago? Bit more interesting than Hugo, I think, and seems to fit your criteria.

babyincubator · 24/03/2011 13:26

LOVE Rafferty. In fact, if I get to have a 2nd DS, I might just use it. Love, Love.

sparkle1977 · 24/03/2011 13:33

I don't dislike any of those names but I like Hugo the best. It was on my list but DH said a definite no unfortunately.

mopsyflopsy · 24/03/2011 13:42

I like Rafferty the most.

Hugo has a strange 'heeuw' sound at the beginning (which the word hug doesn't) and Kit sounds a bit feminine (kitty) to my ears.

Carmen123 · 24/03/2011 13:50

They all sounds like pet names to me. We have a (very lovely) pet rabbit called Hugo.

LittleMilla · 24/03/2011 21:13

Rafferty is our other boy's name - along with Heath (see other thread!). Think that DH are going to hospital with those two names for a boy...although we don't know what we're having.

I also love Jago, but DH doesn't.

No No and No!
please don't call your baby rafferty! or hugo!

othersideofchannel · 26/03/2011 14:52

Why not, marie Confused?

dexifehatz · 03/04/2011 15:24

All of those names were on my boy list! I wonder if I should try for a fourth and hope to use them all in one go??!![]joke]

Leilababyno1 · 03/04/2011 15:44

Defo Rafferty!

Lovin 'Ned' though.....so great and never would have thought of it!

ByTheSea · 03/04/2011 15:45

I like Rafferty!

HooverTheHamaBeads · 03/04/2011 18:01

Hugo for sure

Also like Huw.

HooverTheHamaBeads · 03/04/2011 18:03

We know a Christopher who is 'Christo'

I v v v much like Chris, Mark and John as names

catinboots · 03/04/2011 18:21

Kit is great if short for Christopher.

We have a 13mnth old Hugo and everybody comments on what a fab name it is. He gets nicknamed Baby Hugs, Hugs or Hugzy

catinboots · 03/04/2011 18:23

or by one of my friends - Hugo-a-go-go

Like Kit but short for Kristian.
Hugo is too public school for my liking.
Rafferty too effete imo.

Yamba · 03/04/2011 21:13

Hate Hugo with a passion!
Like Rafferty, but it sounds a bit try-hard iygwim
Kit, just that, on its own, perfect. Goes with Daisy and also goes well with your surname!!

mumofboy · 04/04/2011 20:15

I love Kit.

Henwelly · 04/04/2011 22:30

I know someone with a Jago and its lovely - a cornish name!
