Row han

I think the Rohans I know are all of non-white ancestry (for want of a better way to put it)

Indian pn Ro-han, Irish Rowan.

However, I much prefer the Irish pn, and would think Ro-han stupid on anyone not Indian.

Aaah Squeak - thank you for explaining that!!

That corresponds exactly with the ancestry and pronounciation of the two Rohans that I know.

Doesn't matter how you spell it or how you want it to be pronounced. Some fucker will always make up their own way.

I'd assume that the parents were Lord of the Rings fans and pronounce Ro-han (like ham).

Oh, so you did Maryz! I didn't mean to speed-read past ignore your post. Accept my humblest apologies. Smile

So silly. This is like saying that anyone named Mariah was named after Mariah Carey when in fact Mariah was a biblical character.

Rohan has both Sanskrit/Hindi and Irish/Gaelic origins, the Sanskrit meaning is "one who takes the higher path" or " on who rises, ascends or achieves great heights."
