I think of the character in the Ngaio Marsh books for the female version, so it comes out with strong, independent and intelligent associations. I don't like it so much on a boy, but even then it's OK.

I have only known 3 babies born so far this year - 1 was a girl and both the other 2 have been called Troy (Southwest London, should that be relevant). But, am not sure I like it. Sorry.

I know three Troys and they're all from the US. Obviously I know the name itself isn't American but if I came across a Troy my first instinct would be are they from the US
