Name my campervan

I'll probably jinx it, but we are hopefully buying a traditional vw campervan this afternoon. I feel it's a he. He is blue, a sort of lovely sky blue that you get on a summer day. A bit like the blue banner at the top of here. He was made in 1974.
So, any suggestions for names? As it's a van the more quirky/humourous the better

For girl vehicles I have always like Clara after Long Distance Clara from Pigeon Street. For boys I like Percy, Terence, Archibold and Vladimir.

Underachieving · 09/03/2011 16:36

How about Sid?

GrungeBlobPrimpants · 09/03/2011 16:50

Priscilla (Queen of the Desert)
Jeremy (Clarkson) - preferably pimped up to look like Priscilla

Clive! Oh it's got to be Clive, a 1970's name if ever I heard one.

Trinaluce · 09/03/2011 19:17

What are the three letters in the registration? Whenever my family have named a vehicle we've used those letters. We've had Kenneth (KNH), Henry (HRY) and Reykjavik (RKV!)

As long as it's not Ken - our Kenneth was always the full Kenneth Grin

Underachieving · 10/03/2011 21:29

You need a naming ceremony now. It's got to include a bottle of plonk of course, like her maj' when she names a warship... Only perhaps you want to just tip a little bit on the bonnet rather than smash the whole bottle and get glass on the floor? Wouldn't want to use too much of course, wine is a mild acid y'know. Think of the paintwork. Can't imagine what to do with all th leftover wine you'll have? Perhaps you can? Grin Wine

sponkle · 10/03/2011 21:32

Monty. nuff said.

GibberingGinger · 10/03/2011 22:36

He's lovely. Still not completely sure of this name. DH spends all his time singing Mr Blue Sky at it. Looking forward to lots of days out/picnics and weekends away Grin.

Oh and I got the reg the wrong way round, it's NHS xxxL
