Fox?

My DH and I have been thinking about more unusal names and came up with Fox today, what you guys think. Can a kids have a name like Fox today?

I like it a lot, and considered it for my son (but my husband said no).

Well, it is not that different to Tiger or Bear, both of which are relatively common for men.

Tiger and Bear - not in my social circle they are not

I actually quite like it [blus]. It would depend on the kid though. It would take a certain type of person to carry off a name like that.

I know a Tiger. No Bears though :) Isn't there a bloke on TV called Bear something. An outdoorsy/survival type person? Seems like a fitting name.

never met anyone called Tiger, Bear or Fox. Not so convinced they are widespread names.

I wouldn't do it but tbh these days you can give your dc any kind of name - adjective, made-up, spelt creatively - anything you like so if you really want to call him Fox. you can but I don't know really why you like it so much

Why not go the whole hog and call him Platypus.

There's a little boy called Fox in my daughters class. I think there are far worse names you could call your little boy.

Fine if you can guarantee that he's going to be lithe, fine featured, too cool for school and ideally not red haired.

If you can't guarantee these things, do not call him Fox. It's too cruel.

I new a child called Fox. He was American. His father worked with coyotes, foxes and wolves so it was kind of appropriate. I like it but I don't think I would be brave enough to use it.

Wolf is great though. Foxes have too many negative connotations. I don't know why wolves are better though considering they eat babies and all.

I heard a chorus of wolves 'singing' the other day and it was the most beautiful sound ever.

I know a little Tiger and a Wolf (short for Wolfgang) but have not met a Fox before.

The survivalist one is "Bear" Grylls, and it is a nn for Rupert.

I knew a beautiful girl in the states called Raven she had pitch black hair, the name really suited her.
