Zac or Jack? Help!

I really like the name Jack but I know there are a lot of jack's out there. Do you think Zac is a good alternative or just a bit of a fashion name at the mo? Help, I can't decide and have been thinking about this for nearly 9 months!!!

Zac! Zachary is lovely. We have a Jack in the family (named after a relative) & it's a gorgeous name that suits him well but I do hear soooo many folk shouting THEIR Jacks in the supermarket etc that I zone out a bit! I don't think popularity should necessarily deter you from a name choice but when people ask what our Jack's name is there's a polite nod in response during which I presume they are thinking "him and every other lad his age! Could you not think of anything more original?"!
