Ok, the latest contender for the name is a form of the above, but confused about which spelling to go for.

What would the general concensus be?

Catriona - lovely Scottish name, pronounces ka-tree-na

Catriona - pronounced Cat-ree-uh-na. (Some people go for Cat-ree-oh-na which isn't as nice IMO. Katreena is not the Scottish pronunciation as far as I am aware.)

Catriona is pronounced katrina and Caithlin is kathleen.

Spelling the pronounciation would mean Siobhan being Seeohban (which I expect has already happened).

Anglicising gaelic names is better done by spelling the name as it is pronounced rather than pronouncing it as it is spelled.

if it begins with C, Catriona
if it begins with K, Katrina
