Rosita, Poppy or Emmeline?

Can't decide on a name for DD2. DD1 is Ariana Eva.

We like Rosita (Rosie as a nn), Emmeline (Emmy as a nn) or Poppy.

What do people think?!

Thank you.

emmeline

MollysChambers · 24/02/2011 13:55

Agree, Emmeline

DurhamDurham · 24/02/2011 13:59

Emmeline is a lovely name with a strong connection (Emmeline Pankhurst)

I know quite a few Poppy's, it's an 'ok' name

Rosita is a name I haven't heard before but it reminds me of Rossetta Stone, not too keen personally.

EasyCrew · 24/02/2011 14:38

Emmeline is gorgeous.

I love Rosita, too, but it isn't usually used as a full name, but is a nickname/diminutive of Rosa.

laosvher · 24/02/2011 14:41

Emmeline sounds lovely

Lonnie · 24/02/2011 14:44

Poppy is way to popular for my liking

I prefeer Emmeline due to the fact Rosita to mehas negative associations

Misfitless · 24/02/2011 15:35

Emmeline is beautiful. Agree - far too many Poppy s out there these days. .

Don't get why you MNers post all these names on here. Why don't you keep them to yourselves or everyone will nick them and use them for their DCs then they'll become common popular like Poppy!

Hope88 · 24/02/2011 15:48

Rosita.

Greendress · 24/02/2011 15:59

Emmeline at a push but prefer Emily.

mathanxiety · 24/02/2011 20:26

Emmeline.

coraltoes · 25/02/2011 08:50

Rosita is an affectionate nickname already...so shortening it again to Rosie sounds very odd to my latin ear! Also if i met a Rosita i'd expect her to speak spanish/italian/portuguese...will she? I've got a bit of a thing about giving kids foreign names when there is no heritage...my husband likes french names but we are not french for example so I ruled them out. Having a Corinne or Amelie who doesn't speak french seem bizarre to me. But i'm a fusspot Smile

greenzebra · 25/02/2011 08:55

I think they are all pretty. Emmeline is very nice.
Ive never met a Rosita but I have met a Rosalita, she was from Portugal and I loved the way they said her name

brightcopperkettles · 25/02/2011 09:24

Another vote for Emmeline :)

starfishmummy · 25/02/2011 09:30

Emmeline is nice but people will not listen properly and think she is called Emily!

BarbieLovesKen · 25/02/2011 10:40

Emmeline by far (and I usually never agree with the masses on here when it comes to baby names)

EauRouge · 25/02/2011 10:51

Emmeline, definitely. Rosita is OK if you are Spanish or Portugese-speaking. I know too many dogs called Poppy.

arfanarf · 25/02/2011 11:15

Emmeline.

OliveMalay · 25/02/2011 11:27

Poppy

KAEKAE · 25/02/2011 15:44

I have a Poppy and the name seems to becoming more and more popular...I have met a few since my own was born 15 months ago. Emmeline is nice.

birdofthenorth · 25/02/2011 21:56

Emmeline/Emmy. Gorgeous. And feminist :-)

pixiestix · 25/02/2011 22:11

Emmeline is my favourite, but I agree that she will get called Emily quite often - my best friend is called Emmeline and gets that all the time.

freyamalaya · 25/02/2011 23:06

Emmeline is gorgeous and you can shorten it to Emmy - also lovely.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 26/02/2011 12:37

Totally agree with starfish and pixies I speak from experience.

Rosita gets my vote, Poppy is too popular for me.

kangers · 26/02/2011 12:42

also like emmeline- go for it- but hundreds will be copying it now......

cece · 26/02/2011 12:44

Prefer Rosina to Rosita. Love Rosie

Prefer Emma or Emily or Emmy (sp?) to Emmeline.
