Which do you prefer and why?
I love them both, love nn Pru and Plum and also Nella for Prunella.

This is going to sound rude...

but I think they are both awful, sorry.

frankenfanny · 21/02/2011 13:53

I have always liked Prudence but my family all were horrified, said it was an ugly name, even though I would have used the NNs Prue or Purdy. It is one of those names you will always get that reaction so go for it if you will regret not using it and can live with others prejudices.

Can't imagine ever looking at a lovely little baby and naming her either name. Sorry.

tummytickler · 21/02/2011 13:55

oooh - love nn Purdy!

frankenfanny - people can like or dislike names - I don't think it makes them prejudiced.

LemonDifficult · 21/02/2011 14:04

I like them both.

Prudence is strong and not sort of tinky-winkyish like loads of the popular threads.

marriednotdead · 21/02/2011 14:15

I am related to a Prudence.

She's had a lot of stick over the years, and whenever the name is mentioned, eyebrows raise.

I wouldn't choose either name tbh.

I think they are both awful - sorry!

Meglet · 21/02/2011 14:20

Prudence!!! I love it! So pretty. Would have used it myself if I had another chance.

randomimposter · 21/02/2011 15:12

Much prefer Prudence.

OliveMalay · 21/02/2011 15:28

I like Prudence :)

Don't like Prunella, my first thought is prunes I'm afraid!

Tolalola · 21/02/2011 15:35

Don't like either, sorry. Guess if I was forced I'd pick Prunella, as Prudence sounds v. prissy to me.

LetThereBeRock · 21/02/2011 16:46

They're both utterly hideous.
