Here's the shortlist of baby names I'm considering that I generated with Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder. Let me know what you think.

Boys

I'd use Benjamin and Joshua - I like the others too, just wouldn't use them myself Smile

I love Aidan, Joshua and Benjamin (probably in that order), and also like Ethan.

Not keen on Darragh, though.

OliveMalay · 19/02/2011 00:15

I like Aidan best from your list, then Joshua. Benjamin is OK.

Sorry but I'm not keen on Darragh, and Ethan always reminds me of ethanol!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 19/02/2011 08:14

Like Darragh the best. But the others are all great names too. Ethan becoming popular thanks to Danni Minogue.

Galdem · 19/02/2011 08:28

I like Benjamin best.

I like Dara better than Darragh.

OADCB · 19/02/2011 08:29

Aidan or Benjamin but most confess to a slight bias towards Aidan

Like Aidan the best and would consider it myself. Like Benjamin too.

Darragh is ok.

Don't like Joshua or Ethan.

Thanks everyone for feedback. We still have two and a half weeks to go and partner and i cannot agree! We have narrowed down again to Aidan, Benjamin, Joshua, Julian, Issac. My preferences are 1. aidan and 2. issac. My partner says he thinks that Aidan sounds 'too cold' (???) - i LOVE it, and it's irish which was something that I feel is important (am half irish and love the names). What do you do if you can't 100% agree?!! How do i persuade him? Partner loves Issac , and could be shortened to Zac. Is this common ? Feedback or tips on persuading gratefully received!

I have never met an Aidan that I like (and have taught a few) so that puts me off.

I like

Isaac
Julian
Benjamin
Joshua (I know lots)

in that order.
