Still not decided on name for DD1, due in May.
Can anyone suggest similar to the ones we have below/what do you think of each?

There is quite a lot of Daisys and Elizas around by me... Like Orla and Uma more.

Looks like you want a short name so....

Eve
Lily
Iris
Joy

Deciduousblonde · 16/02/2011 14:36

I love Daisy, even if it is popular..that just shows it's a lovely name Smile

Not keen on the others, sorry.

Pinkjenny · 16/02/2011 14:38

I know a couple of Daisys. I like Eliza.

Sarsaparilllla · 16/02/2011 14:49

I like Eliza and Orla :)

RatherBeOnThePiste · 16/02/2011 14:52

Aw.., Eliza was my choice if we had a second DD, DH wanted Kitty which I liked too, but our second Dc was a lovely DS!

PS Eve is v v popular where I am, so is Iris

theagedparent · 16/02/2011 14:54

Uma is the nicest

Plonker · 16/02/2011 14:56

I like Eliza best from your list (and I like Elizabeth even more than Eliza)

Daisy and Orla are lovely too. I'm not as keen on Uma.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 16/02/2011 15:03

Quite like them all. Daisy is probably the most popular from your list if that bothers you at all.

AppleyEverAfter · 16/02/2011 15:09

Love Orla! DH's not keen though :-(

Anaxagora · 16/02/2011 15:13

Orla has become quite popular recently -- I know several under the age of about 5.

flopsy1974 · 16/02/2011 15:27

Eliza and Orla are lovely

CharlieBoo · 16/02/2011 16:15

I have a Daisy, although she gets called Dotty a lot! I don't know any other little Daisy's (mines nearly 2). Eliza was on my list too. Love them both more than the other two.

teobaldo · 16/02/2011 16:46

I like both Orla and Uma if you are Irish -
I prefer Elisa or Elise to Eliza (it sounds softer. If you like short names what about Nina, Anna, Ines or Agnes, Agatha or Gemma ?

Firawla · 16/02/2011 18:22

dont like Uma at all, but the others are all v nice

BelligerentGhoul · 16/02/2011 18:22

I like Daisy and Eliza is okay as a nn for Elizabeth. The other two are too 'hard' sounding for me.

womma · 16/02/2011 20:42

Not very keen on Uma, but the other names you've chosen are great names.

I know three people called Daisy and they are all wonderful, so that would be my favourite.

Have fun choosing!

agora1 · 16/02/2011 21:04

I like Orla and Daisy.

How about Nuala?

KenDoddsDadsDog · 16/02/2011 21:16

Orla but if you are Irish or are prepared to answer Irish connection questions.
Becoming very popular in England but always has been in Ireland/Scotland.
Love Eliza.
Do you like Una too?

CPtart · 16/02/2011 21:18

Know an Eliza and an Orla. Bear in mind the name must also suit when cutesy daughter is a middle aged woman!!

brightcopperkettles · 16/02/2011 22:35

I like Orla and Eliza. I'll suggest Iona into the mix as well :).

ducknipples · 16/02/2011 22:45

ooh, i love orla Smile
i have an isla, which is apparently quite popular now but i don't know where, i don't know any others!

tigerbear · 16/02/2011 23:10

Thanks for all of your suggestions! :)

Uma had been my favourite until now, so surprised to see that not many people like it.

Still like Orla a lot.
ken I like Una, but prefer it spelled Oona, and a friend of mine already had a DD of that name.

Seem to like short names ending in 'a'...

OliveMalay · 17/02/2011 00:22

I like Daisy best from your list :)

KenDoddsDadsDog · 17/02/2011 06:25

Also should have suggested Aine (Onya) or Anya. The first is the Irish spelling. And of course there is Emma!
I do like Uma a lot. But not as much as Orla Smile

Hatterbox · 17/02/2011 09:18

I love Eliza and Orla.

Uma is nice, but I don't like it as much as Eliza and Orla.

Daisy just bores me.
