I've heard Dwight (like the president) or Isaac, is there anything else?

Thanks

scurryfunge · 14/02/2011 23:10

Isaiah

CountessVonKnackerstein · 14/02/2011 23:13

Sorry, I meant to type "Ikea :)"
It might be Michael.

PartialToACupOfMilo · 14/02/2011 23:19

Was also going to type Ikea!

Do you mean as in ... and Tina Turner? Not the nicest connotations.

pipKA · 14/02/2011 23:20

Thank you guys, I love Alexander and Isaac...and Isaiah for that matter! This is all for a hypothetical DS2, we already have a Noah and are considering another biblical-type nickname but I love the nickname Ike.

US president Dwight D Eisenhower was called Ike!

candleshoe · 14/02/2011 23:23

Ooo yes - the other famous Ike was Tina Turner's 'wife beating?' ex husband!

grubbalo · 15/02/2011 07:54

I have an Isaac with nn Ike or Ikey - Obviously I think it's a lovely name!!

Although MIL detests both nn, says (in a disparaging tone) that "that's what Dwight Eisenhower used to be called". Could understand her disgust if it was e.g. Hitler who used to be called that nn, but there you go, when will I ever really understand my MIL. So she calls him "Isey" which I CANNOT BARE but grit my teeth and smile....

Actually reading your list, I think all your boys names are lovely, have fun choosing!

-key mo the barber.

Teapot13 · 15/02/2011 12:32

I think when Eisenhower was called "Ike" it was short for Eisenhower, not Dwight, but I'm not sure.

womma · 16/02/2011 22:20

ikeandtinaturner is the full form of the name I believe

Deciduousblonde · 17/02/2011 09:54

I believe you are correct, Teapot13 :)

frida75 · 17/02/2011 11:32

My ds is called Isaac and we call him Ike.

Or Ikey. Or Ikey-mo. Or Isey. Or Isey Wisey Pudden and Piesy.

pastapestoforgotherpassword · 22/02/2011 00:06

The Ike I know is short for Ikenna (african name)
