Our beautiful new baby girl is a happy contented tiny wee thing (3 weeks early). Having got to know her for ten days now, we think we've arrived at a name: Isla Grace MacXX - comments anyone?

Beautiful. Many congratulations.

BikeRunSki · 14/02/2011 08:45

Lovely. Lovely. Love Isla and lovely lovely with Grace.

Have just realised that MacXX is surname, not made up extra middle name!

BarbieLovesKen · 14/02/2011 10:03

Absolutely beautiful.

Huge congratulations Grin

Not keen on Isla, it's a bit faddy ATM and reminds me of 70s gameshow hostess Isla St Clair.

ShowOfHands · 14/02/2011 10:48

I also think of Isla as fairly faddy.

But it's perfectly fine, you love it and you think it suits your baby so of course you must use it. Congratulations.

QuestionNumber · 14/02/2011 15:02

Agree, ShowOfHands.

There will always be some people who like a name and others who are not so keen. If you like it then use it, we're just random strangers on the internet after all Wink

Congratulations! :o

Beautiful

Congratulations :)

Plonker · 14/02/2011 15:26

Ah it's gorgeous!

Yes, it's trendy, but it's perfectly lovely Smile

BikeRunSki · 14/02/2011 17:09

Isla may be a bit faddy in some places now, (I only know one and she is nearly 5) but it is an old, established timeless name. And lovely.

serendipity16 · 14/02/2011 19:05

Beautiful

Congratulations.

mollymole · 14/02/2011 19:07

really lovely

womma · 14/02/2011 21:49

Really, really lovely choice.

Congrats on having a lovely little girl!!!

sleeplessinderbyshire · 14/02/2011 22:35

i love Isla. My friend's daughter is Grace Isla

A1980 · 14/02/2011 23:29

Not keen on Isla.

The reasons I say this is that my friend at Uni met and married a Mr White. Isla White!!!

It just sounds like "Isle of" pronounced badly. Isla Dogs, Isla Man, etc.

Grace is lovely though.

KristinaM · 14/02/2011 23:34

What lovely names. Congratulations!

calaloo · 14/02/2011 23:36

I personally find Isla really weak sounding. I like strong sassy girl names.

I don't think it matters what I think though does it!

ohnoshedittant · 14/02/2011 23:45

Lovely lovely name.

But is popular at the moment. I know an Isla Grace and 2 other Isla somethings as well.

sb6699 · 14/02/2011 23:54

Lovely - but I'm biased Wink

P.S. Calaloo my dd could definately be described as strong and sassy!

CalaLilly · 15/02/2011 11:24

Gorgeous! Our second favourite girls name is Iona Grace Mc... though so I'm slightly biased. I love pretty sounding Scottish girls names Smile. Isla is pretty popular at the moment throughout the UK but it is a very lovely celtic name (think lots of people use it as a filmstar name- aka Isla Fisher) and its nowhere near top 10 names list! (Not that there would be anything wrong if it was Wink )
