Just found out we are expecting again. We have chosen a boys name but cannot agree on a girls name. I love Nicole but DH is not keen. We also like well known names but not too popular. We like the less popular versions of a name. For example

Louise becomes Louisa
Nicola becomes Nicole
Diane becomes Diana

Hoping I have explained it properly!!

I think it's quite hard to find the unusual versions of more common names because in my opinion, the more unusual versions are becoming more popular eg. Clara is now more popular then Cliare; Helena more popular then Helen.

What about Lily becomming Lillian? I don;t know any Lilians.

Hmm, yes I agree. It depends on ages IME. I know hundreds of Clare/Claire's and only one Clara (teen). I know hundreds of Louise's (but only on little Louisa - 5ish).

I know lots and lots of Lily's ...and a fair few adult Lilians.

I don't know any Helena's at all, but I do know a fair few adult Helens.
