What do you think of Jenson as a boy's name? It's listed on Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder.

Button.

purepurple · 22/01/2011 19:16

I know a 3 year old Jenson. It suits him. I like it.

SacharissaCripslock · 22/01/2011 19:18

Mmm Jenson Ackles.

Apart from him I'm not a huge fan of it.

JojoMags · 22/01/2011 20:40

Horrid. Sorry. Sad

othersideofchannel · 22/01/2011 21:08

Awful. Especially the nicknames Jen, Jenny?

Eglu · 22/01/2011 21:11

I like it. It is a possible middle name for DC3.

sophiesmummie · 22/01/2011 21:13

Really dislike Jenson - it sounds feminine. Perhaps because of the Jen/Jenny nicknames...

happywheezer · 22/01/2011 21:18

Jenson Button is named after a very cool brand of car called Jensen.
His dad gave him the name because he was a racing driver too.
If either of you like F1 or cars in general, then it's an excellent choice.

SingingSands · 22/01/2011 21:18

DD has a Jenson in her class. He stole the comic relief money one year. Therefore I associate the name with being naughty!

sophiesmummie · 22/01/2011 21:20

I thought Jensen was a brand of beds...

Tortington · 22/01/2011 21:24

ridic

rachel1970 · 22/01/2011 21:25

Sorry, I really dislike it. Especially the lack of suitable nicknames (Jen, Jenny Hmm)

CockneySparra · 22/01/2011 21:26

Hideous. I have a friend who just called her son this. I had to force that polite smile and obligatory 'ahh, it suits him' comment.

Trying2bgd · 22/01/2011 21:26

I also love Jenson Ackles, sigh! Name is quite nice too!

Kendodd · 22/01/2011 21:27

I like it. I'm surprised have many people seem to really dislike it.

tammytoby · 22/01/2011 21:30

Dislike it, sorry.

hogsback · 22/01/2011 21:43

Naming children after racing drivers is, by definition, cool - however the golden rule is that you can't use the name until the driver has retired. Try Alberto (Ascari), James (Clark, Hunt), John (Surtees), Jochen (Rindt), Jackie (Stewart), Nelson (Piquet), Emerson (Fittipaldi), Nikolaus (Lauda), Alain (Prost), Mika (Hakkinen).

Michael is a complete non-starter for obvious reasons.

And Ayrton has been retired. There will never be another, so it's pointless anyone ever having that name again.

PlanetLizard · 23/01/2011 09:53

Button

Fitzwilliam · 23/01/2011 10:22

I have NO idea who Jenson Button is.

But Jensen Ackles is like perfection in human form.

I can't comment on the name, I see only Dean.

tammytoby · 23/01/2011 10:24

What nickname would you use - Jen, Jenny?

talkingnonsense · 23/01/2011 10:26

Adore jensen ackles. Nickname jense?
