In my work I often meet babies (and their parents) and recently I have come accross some names I thought were lovely I cant help wondering though if they are up and comming (my youngest is 7 so i dont really know) or if they are popular so wondered what you all thought?

girls
Alina
Arianne
Betsy (she was named Betsy not an abriviation)

Boys
Arlo
Emil (thought mother was Swedish so she and I had a lovely chat about a book by Astrid Lingreen whom has a boy named this as the main char)

(hehe just thought most of the boys have had really traditional names)

what is everyones opinion?

I love Betsy and I think it's becoming more popular of late. Never heard of the boys names, very unusual and not sure I love them!!

I love Alina!

We considered Betsy, but then DVO used it so it spoilt it a little as we knew there would be loads more. Also our DD was born about a week after DVO's, and it would have looked like we 'copied'.

I like Alina and Arlo. Arlo becoming more popular I think, I've heard of a few lately.

I like Alina, Arianne, Arlo and Emil. Not so keen on Betsy though, it sounds a bit flippant.
