My dd1 who is 17 has Mae as a middle name. I love it but wasn't brave enough to use it as a first name. Dh's Gran was a Mae so for us it was a tribute to her.

snackattack · 19/01/2011 18:18

Lovely! It's my dd's middle name!

love it its beautiful

I think of Mae West (the actress and the lifejacket) - not sure if it would be a good choice if your family tends to the buxom.

There are an awful lot of (something)-Mae names about at the moment - would that bother you!

PavlovtheCat · 19/01/2011 20:00

i like it

kerala · 19/01/2011 21:09

Insubstantial and floaty. Can see why its usually a middle name.

brillopads · 19/01/2011 21:48

Like it, and it seems completely different to 'May' for some reason to me

PlanetLizard · 20/01/2011 08:31

Agree with kerala. I like May though.

LouMacca · 20/01/2011 09:17

My DDs middle name is 'May' - much prefer that spelling. I think its would be lovely as a first name but I personally don't like the e on the end rather than the y.
