Dorothea, Jocelyn, Naomi, Bethany?

38 weeks and DH has thrown out (what i thought was the) agreed name aaaargh.

What do you think of these first names?

They will have a Turkish middle name, either:

Ilayda (Ill - lie - da) water nymph (unless any Turkish speakers want to correct me)
Selale (Sha - lah - li) - waterfall

Any that don't go with first names?

Followed by DH surname as middle name and my surname (begins with S, 1 syllable, given up masking identity as panic sets in)

Naomi

Lovely name. Dorothea and Jocelyn are not nearly as nice and a but frumpy, in my opinion. Bethany is okay. But Naomi is great. Either middle name sounds fine with it.

Naomi Selale.

Dorothea is great. She could be known as Dora, Dotty or Thea. Plus I quite like the character of Dorothea in Middlemarch (some people think she is priggish but I think she is clever, independent, kind and patient which are all pretty enviable qualities).

Dorothea Ilayda is lovely.

I have a Turkish middle name too. I love it and people always compliment me on it.

I love that name! I think it goes better with Ilayda.

I think Bethany is probably the best (although prefer Bethan).

The only Dorothea I have ever known was a bully.

Dorothea is a not so nice, but it could be Thea for short. Jocelyn I really don't like at all.

Definitly not Jocelyn. Not keen on Dorothea. Naomi is fab. Bethany is OK.

Naomi is beautiful. I would have it myself it wasn't too similar to DD's name.

Not keen on Jocelyn, something prissy and starched about it.
Naomi easier for Turkish rellies to pronounce if that's a factor?

Jocelyn and Bethany are a bit faded, Naomi is OK.
