I have always loved this name so slightly gutted that it has the potential to explode in popularity. How many little Esme's do you know? Especialy if you are in London/SE? Fwiw I would pronounce it EsME not may. Tia.

OUr DC2 and 3 were going to be Thea and Verity if that is any help. The only trouble was they were blue flavoured so never got to use those names Smile

Thanks....Smile we obviously share name tastes, Esther and Thea are on my list, but for some reason my DP isnt keen on Esther and some of DP's family have, in a lovely way, got a heavy London accent and I'm worried Thea will become 'Feea'.....

My 4 month old daughter is called Esme. We live in Liverpool, and scousers pronounce it EsmEEEEE. People round here seem to like it, there are 4 Esmes at the baby yoga class we go to (one is a mum though). Suppose baby yoga attendees must fit into an Esme liking demographic....

For some reason incredibly popular in Newcastle in the mid-late 90s - my niece (not an Esme) (13) has three in her class.
