Would you pronounce Wesley as WEZ-lee or WES-lee?

Dear all, I was hoping to get some opinions as to whether you would pronounce Wesley as WEZ-lee or WES-lee.

I've only known one person with this name as it's not that common and he most definitely used the Z rather than the S pronunciation. Recently I've heard other people pronouncing the name as WES-lee which made me wonder if I'd been getting the name wrong all these years Hmm

Having done a quick check around it seems both pronunciations are accepted and used but I'm curious to know which is most popular as it's a name that is high on our list of boys' names.

I prefer the WEZ-lee pronunciation but that's probably just because that's the only way I'd heard the name said until now.

Thoughts appreciated! Thank you!

Wez-Lee definitely. I think they say Wes-Lee in America though :)

i know one and it's definitely WEZ-lee

Phew! I am not the only one to think Wez-lee is a normal and acceptable pronunciation :) I had started to worry that I might have been about to go for a name that I would then have unwittingly mispronounced to the general amusement of all for years to come!

Many thanks!
