Bought this book quite early on as I was overwhlmed by choice and it proclaims that it has 100,000+ names - good, right?

Some of the names (and meanings are just nonsense)..

I give you

Girls

Jam (as sweet as the condiment)
Fluffy (a fun loving young woman)
Frosty (one who is cool and crisp)
Peace (a harmonious woman)
Suave (a smooth and courteous woman)

Boys

Fabulous (one who is vain)
Biff (a bully)
Cricket (resembling a chirping insect of the night)
Quick (one who is fast

I think they have just leafed through a dictionary and picked out some words. No-one has these as names, surely?

Also lists Tam and Lexine as traditional SCottish girl names. Tam is a nickname for Thomas!

Hi fallingandlaughing, I (accidently) purchased this for my Kindle & found the same thing, some of the names on there are pure nonsense!

I think it's the handbook for cruel parents who want to find the strangest name possible... Confused

Yes it is no wonder the3 can come up with 100,000 names when they can find 6 different ways to spell Fluffy.

I think it is maybe better known as the "Complete Book of Pet Names".
