Highlandgirl · 30/12/2010 17:42

Already have a thread going on DH's BS names..so for good measure I'm throwing in the girls too...!

Sophie
Olivia
Emily
Lucy
Emma
Erin - ERRRRRRR dislike..!
Hannah
Charlotte
Anna
Sarah - I think this might come back into fashion
Iona
Elizabeth
Alice
Alexandra

DH gave me 4 BS names..but clearly not so stuck with girls..our 2 top runners aren't on here as this list was taken from 2009/10 top 100 girls names...

What do you think???

I love Charlotte, but I am biased as that is my eldests name Wink

BarbieLovesKen · 31/12/2010 19:30

Charlotte is a beautiful name.

labtest · 31/12/2010 19:34

It doesn't appear in the Top 100 for Scotland, 2010.

Highlandgirl · 01/01/2011 17:02

I know but England and Wales are sooo slow are getting name stats out....no idea why Scotland is so much quicker...

We won't get the 2010 stats until Oct 11...! Crap

It didn't appear on the Babycentre top 100 either, if that helps :)

SoupDragon · 01/01/2011 17:47

I named DS1 without reference to teh baby name lists. He was my first and I had no idea I was choosing a popular name (top 20 rather than very very popular). As it turned out, he was the only one in his year at primary and, although one of five in his year at secondary, is the only one in his class there.

It was the right name for him though so I don't care!

I think DS2 came in 68th for his birth year and DD didn't feature at all for hers. Neither of them are likely to be able to get a personalised pencil from a souvenir shop :o

muminthemiddle · 02/01/2011 19:11

I would just go with Beatrice as it isn't that popular.

Nightstar · 02/01/2011 19:16

Alice is the nicest

Alice in Wonderland is such a fabulous book

RueLaChesty · 02/01/2011 20:07

i think Honor is the same as Iona. I suggested it for DD2 and DP said he knew an Honor at school and the common theme was 'i'd like to get on her' 'i'd take her honour' Boys can be cruel!

I'm quite fussy so only like

emma
alice
beatrix (but not beatrice)
elizabeth (I have one)

Mum72 · 02/01/2011 20:17

My faves from that list are

Sophie
Charlotte
Alexandra
Emma

busymummy3 · 02/01/2011 20:19

None of these names (except Iona ) are different . My DD is 13 and in her set of 30 girls there is at least one of every name except Iona ! ps dont like Iona either

Highlandgirl · 02/01/2011 20:21

Busy even an Honor...???

busymummy3 · 02/01/2011 20:39

Just went back and read all of this thread. Seems your 2 contenders are Honor and Beatrice.
If you have chosen Honor like this much better than Beatrice. Sorry have just never seen the fascination in this ugly name.

ShoppingDays · 03/01/2011 00:39
