Lots of names here seem to be inspired by One Direction/X-factor, or am I wrong???!!

Erm isnt aiden a classic name? and Harry has been in the top names list for many years.

onimolap · 26/12/2010 22:14

Aidan and Harry have been around for centuries. Niall is traditional too. I'd take Zayn as a version of Zane, which is more recent but not newly coined either.

No predicting what will make the fashionability of names come and go, though.

I do think it might make them more popular cos it will remind people of those names, but Aidan and Harry were already v popular

Um, I don't watch these shows - who is Niall?

I only ask as that is dts1's name but as he is 9 then I can't be blamed for jumping on a bandwagon. We pronounce it the Irish way rather than Scottish - Ny-all rather than Neil but chose it because it means champion!
