Girls names - votes and suggestions please

We are expecting a girl in early Feb but neither of us are good at choosing girls names. We have come up with the following (very) short list:

Eliza
Martha
Rose
Sophie

We like them all but would probably use Rose as a middle name to any of the other three, although we like Rose (nn Rosie) the most. This is because we can't think of a middle name for Rose without the name sounding like a palm reader or a double barrelled first name ie Rose Anna, Rose Marie!

What do you think of the short list and any suggestions for middle names to Rose?

thanks all

Martha is just gorgeous.

Komondor · 23/12/2010 17:34

Rose is my favourite

I love all those names - what about Rose Louise or Rose Elise? I think they both go together quite well although it may depend on what your last name is.

IAmReallyFabNow · 23/12/2010 17:35

You could just have Rose. You don't have to have a middle name.

minipie · 23/12/2010 17:40

Rose Martha would sound nice.

Rose Catherine works well too though not on your list.

Surname is B and two syllables, quite short. Can't use Louise for family reasons.

Like Elise and Catherine. Thanks

Didn't Nick Cave and Kylie do a song about Eliza Rose? Martha Rose is lovely.

SherbetDibDab · 23/12/2010 18:25

You could use Rosemary as a full length first name and then middle names would be easy,

lilibet - I think it was

Eliz is my favourite

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 23/12/2010 18:39

I meant Eliza, of course.

CharlieBoo · 23/12/2010 19:31

I like Martha best

JiltedJohnsJulie · 23/12/2010 20:04

Like them all but think Rose is my favourite.

Agree that you could just have Rose but the name on its own but

Rose Martha and Rose Eliza sound good to me, not so sure of Rose Sophie though, but how often do we use middle names anyway?
