Poppy, Phoebe or Heidi?

This would be with Niamh as the middle name. Already had a Lydia.

We feel a bit named out so would love some external feedback.

Thanks x

I really like heidi. Have not met any since I was at primary school 35 years ago. I know lots of little girls called phoebe and poppy and weirdly one poppie too.

The book was one of my favourites as a child.

Reup - great username (and taste in names in general :) )- are you a fan of The Wire?

RockinRobinBird · 22/12/2010 18:34

Anything except Poppy, which is truly hideous.

reup · 22/12/2010 18:34

Yes I am. I might rewatch some over Xmas as there nothing much on.

swanandduck · 22/12/2010 18:37

Poppy wins by a mile. I love it and I don't really like the other two names.

SilkStalkings · 22/12/2010 18:38

Heidi

Greenwing · 22/12/2010 19:00

Vote from me for Phoebe, despite the dippy 'Friends' character.
Lydia is a classical Latin name and Phoebe is classical Greek so they sort of go together.

Poppy and Heidi are too babyish IMO - Can't imagine either name helping her to command respect if she should have a professional, high powered job as an adult.

BlitzenAndCupidsSleighDodger · 22/12/2010 19:02

Dr Pixie McKenna seems to have overcome the babyish name name think. Xmas Grin

I would vote Poppy, but then I am biased. Xmas Wink

Firawla · 22/12/2010 19:42

definitely poppy for me, much nicer. also think it sounds good with ur other dd, and good with the mn niamh

swanandduck · 22/12/2010 19:48

I knew a high powered accountant called Candy so her name obviously didn't hold her back.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 22/12/2010 20:04

Greenwig - what, Heidi Montag doesn't command respect? :)

ja9 · 22/12/2010 20:06

I LOVE all of these names. Heidi was the only one of the 3 that we seriously considered but that was because of DH. Lydia also beautiful - you have great taste Grin.

MerryMarigold · 22/12/2010 20:40

I like Heidi best.

I DON'T like Poppy at all. Too babyish for even an 11 year old.

Phoebe is nice, but don't like it hugely.

Laneigejaune · 22/12/2010 20:50

Like Phoebe best, but then I have one. Like Heidi too,
was on my list as well. Would have loved to call one of DDs Lydia but DH vetoed it. Funny how people like the same groups of names.

I think Lydia and Phoebe go very well together.

Haribojoe · 22/12/2010 20:55

I would go with Poppy, I like Phoebe but don't think it really goes with Niamh, I'm not as keen on Heidi and don't think it goes so well with Lydia.

reindeergaga · 22/12/2010 21:03

test

LittleYellowTeapot · 22/12/2010 21:03

Heidi is my fave.
I like Poppy but I knew quite a few dogs called Poppy. Phoebe is lovely.

blackcoffee · 22/12/2010 21:05

I work in an infant school. Two Heidis two Poppys and a Phoebe. On that basis I'd say Phoebe.

reindeergaga · 22/12/2010 21:08

I am a Heidi - and also (ahem, Greenwing) "command respect in my professional, high powered job as an adult" (am on my 40s).

I didnt like my name at school but that was at the height of the tv series and also hi-di-hi(these things are always a pain, and kids always find something to latch onto). However, I LOVE my name now, really LOVE IT, and have always found that men/women tend to think it suits me. Its fairly uncommon (outside CA) without being weird or made up, and i think most germanic names are actually strong (hence my daughter having a similar-ish one).

Go Heidi I say - i do think its a name that can be all things at all ages.

reindeergaga · 22/12/2010 21:09

PS Poppy way too girly

MissMiniEggs · 23/12/2010 08:35

poppy Smile

tebbles · 23/12/2010 12:08

I dont like Poppy at all and it doesnt go with her sisters name either.

I think Heidi would really suit her sister's name as well so that would be my favourite.

Heidi and Lydia are lovely as sisters.

Phoebe would be my second choice if you decided against Heidi for some reason.

blackeyedsusan · 24/12/2010 02:16

Phoebe seems to go best with Niamh.

heidi and lydia are best together imo.

cumbria81 · 24/12/2010 06:00

I hate Phoebe.

Heidi is quite nice.

Poppy I would always think of as a young girl's name rather than a serious adult but it's pretty.

jellybeans · 24/12/2010 11:21

Heidi
