We have a DD and DS, both with very ordinary top 10 type names. I have a girl's name for next baby, but not a boy's one yet. So, suggestions beginning with E please, but no Ethelberts or Earnests!

Knew someone would ask...its because we already have C, D, F and G in our family and want to fill the gap!
The girl's name I like is Ella.
Liking Elliot, do they get called 'Elli' though which is a bit...girly?
Edward, Evan and Elijah are names of good friends kids so they're out.
Keep going guys, I like some of these and will give DH a short list!

ethelred Grin

though I love Ethan which I see is popular and Edward's good as they're so many short forms: Ed Eddie Ned Ted etc

Elijah is nice but probably not very 'modern'.

You'll be trying again for A & B I hope....I like Edward or Edmund.

We3kingsoforientRaahh · 13/12/2010 14:04

My Elliot (8) gets El as a short form sometimes, but is usually just Elliot- it really doesn't seem a bit girly on him!

Elmo Grin

I know an Elliot who's usually shortened to 'Els', which suits him and doesn't seem girly at all, even though he's very 'feminine' looking.

CappuccinoCarrie · 13/12/2010 14:39

Elliot def my fave of all this, thanks guys!
Really like Eoghan too, hadn't come across that before but would fit with DS's name well I think.
Other option is to go with an A (our surname is B) and persuade DH to try again for Ella!!

Oh no, please don't go for Eoghan, it still makes me shudder with the memory of that horrible little boy on the X Factor the other year!

Ethan is the nicest one suggested so far!

(and Ella is beautiful!)
