What a fab list, I love them all!
Kitty would be a fab nn for Tabitha ..I think Sarah Jessica Parker did that!
I'd have Charlotte with Lottie as a nn.
Imogen, Harriet and Olivia are divine, gosh I'm stumped!
HmmI'd probably go with the Tabitha -kitty nn- option myself!

Again I'd choose Edward, with Ted as a nn, just so that he has the option when he's older, same reason for Charlotte and Tabitha!

Good luck choosing! x

BelligerentGhoul · 09/12/2010 22:56

Love Kitty as nn for Catherine
Don't like Tabitha
Love lottie as nn for Charlotte
Love Imogen
Love Harriet
Not overly fond of Olivia

Only like Ted from your boys' list - and only as a nn for Edward.

DuelingFanio · 09/12/2010 22:58

Love Kitty and Lottie and all the boy names :)

Komondor · 09/12/2010 23:03

I prefer Ted, Kitty etc as nicknames

Catherine (nn Kitty) - love
Tabitha - don't like, I associate it with nn Tabby, which to me is a cat's name
Charlotte (nn Lottie) - love
Imogen - like
Olivia - love
Harriet (nn Hattie) - like

Edward (nn Ted) - love
Milo - like but prefer Miles
Felix - a cats name dont like

MelinaM · 09/12/2010 23:05

^lol I agree with the Felix cat combo, sorry!

thumbplumpuddingwitch · 09/12/2010 23:07

Do you like cats, perchance? Wink You have 3 cat-associated names there...

Like Komondor, I prefer use of full names with nns optional.

Not keen on Milo as a name, mostly because am in Australia now and it's the name of a hot milk drink like Horlicks. And it's made by Nestlé.

I don't mind any of your names, don't love any of them either (except possibly Felix but we could never use that now, too similar to DS's name)

EvianBaby · 09/12/2010 23:12

Thanks everyone (especially those that like my choices!!) Smile

No, not a huge fan of cats but realise that I do like feline related names Grin

I appreciate everyone's opinions to please keep them coming...

Thanks again

Kitty - dislike, a nickname and a cat's name
Tabitha - dislike, cat
Lottie - it's OK
Imogen - quite nice
Olivia - nice
Harriet - love this :)

Ted - nice if nickname for Edward
Milo - like :)
Felix - great name Grin

AllieW · 10/12/2010 10:01

Imogen is my daughter's name so I'm biased!

As with others, I only like Lottie if it's a nn for Charlotte. I dislike Kitty, Tabitha, Olivia (much prefer Ophelia) and Harriet.

Of your boys options I only really like Felix and then a little begrudgingly. I vastly prefer Micah over Milo (I appreciate the only connection is the first letter!).

theagedparent · 10/12/2010 10:37

Kitty and Ted

kreecherlivesupstairs · 10/12/2010 11:23

I quite like all of yours except Tabitha and Milo. All the nicknames would be great as a proper name and the NN used informally.
I really like Felix and don't particularly like cats.

Highlandgirl · 10/12/2010 11:29

Ohhhhhh I just love your names....

Kitty - LOVE....will you have Katherine as a full name?
Tabitha - LOVE....Would have it myself but DH ex was Tabitha...Xmas Sad
Lottie - Charlottte is a brilliant name, not so keen on Lottie. But nice.
Imogen - LOVE..can't use as my big sis stole it...another Xmas SadXmas Envy
Olivia - Very popular but a lovely name. If you already have an Oscar, then this makes name tapes easy..! Grin But do you want a house with 2 'O'. Try shouting it up the stairs...!
Harriet - Again I LOVE.

Ted - Please call him Edward. Ted just a bit too old man for me.
Milo - Ohhh brave, but it always reminds me of the Aussie choc drink.
Felix - Not so keen....What about Jasper?

Imogen and Oscar sound (IM0) the best! Or Edward and Oscar.

EvianBaby · 10/12/2010 18:02

Ooh lots of great advice! Thanks everyone! So pleased I finally found the courage to post!

Still interested in everyone elses opinions so keep adding yours!...

I do get the distinct feeling that if I choose a name that can be a nickname then I should definitely use the full name on birth certificate etc. Thanks for making me think seriously about that.

I think I need to create a bar chart or something to track popularity Grin

Oh yes, I hadn't given the same initial thing much thought, thanks highlandgirl - a very good point!

Eglu · 10/12/2010 18:05

Kitty - love it
Tabitha - love this and DH will not allow it

Love Felix and Milo, Ted is okay bit a bit popular for my liking.

foxter · 10/12/2010 18:08

Milo is a brand of hot chocolate/malt drink in Australia (or at least it was when I spent a year there is 1994).

That's why it would not be my first choice...

LetThereBeRock · 10/12/2010 18:29

Kitty Dreadful. It makes me think of a stripper/pornstar.
Tabitha Horrid.
Lottie Gorgeous. I really like it.
Imogen Also lovely.
Olivia Nice name.
Harriet One of my favourites.

Boy
Ted Awful
Milo Quite nice
Felix Lovely

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 10/12/2010 19:09

I like Imogen

That's it

KangarooCaught · 10/12/2010 19:16

I adore Charlotte/Lottie, would have been dc3's name but think Kitty & Tabitha pair v well with Oscar.

Out of your boy's choices, Milo imo goes well; Oscar/Felix sibsets seem quite popular. What about Finbar? Struan? Jago?Hugo?

minipie · 10/12/2010 19:18

Kitty - great but call her Catherine with nn Kitty

Tabitha - cat or large middle aged lady

Lottie - nice enough but call her Charlotte with nn Lottie

Imogen - like

Olivia - not so keen

Harriet - not so keen

Ted - nice but call him Edward or Edmund with nn Ted

Milo - ok, bit too on trend

Felix - like

As you'll see I'm not a fan of shortenings as full names... !

NadiaWadia · 11/12/2010 00:57

Olivia and Imogen are lovely.

Kitty is OK as nickname. Ditto Lottie

Felix makes me think of a cat - sorry! (as does Tabitha really - see Beatrix Potter).

darleneconnor · 11/12/2010 01:59

Girl
Kitty- oh no
Tabitha SJP's twin girl, not attractive
Lottie not a real name
Imogen- nice
Olivia too 'of the moment'
Harriet, old tweed wearing lady

Boy
Ted a nn
Milo a bit Tweenies but I like it
Felix- there is a shop near me called 'Felix and Oscar', and it's a pet's name

mathanxiety · 11/12/2010 05:18

Felix and Oscar are The Odd Couple.

Ted, Kitty and Lottie are nns. I like long versions on the birth cert -- the nns are very nice though. Would Ted be short for Edward or Theodore?
Katherine/ Kathryn and Charlotte are lovely.

I think Milo is very 'now'. Olivia is lovely; there's a good reason it's so popular.

Imogen and Harriet I just can't warm to.

mathanxiety · 11/12/2010 05:20

Forgot -- Tabitha is lovely too imo.
