Brother for Olivia

Hi all,

Please could you advise on which name you prefer for a little brother to Olivia:

George
William
Sam

Other names in the running (less strongly) are Felix, Theo, and Thomas

Any feedback appreciated on the names!

I like Samuel the best, but I think George sounds nicest with Olivia. However William has loads of lovely nicknames.
The all have their plus points, but i vote for George.
I do not like Felix or Theo. They are a bit trendy for me, and Thomas is sooooooooo dull.

If anyone has any other suggestions to add that would be lovely too. Want a traditional boys name, that is also easy to use day to day.

I think William goes well with Olivia. They are both quite long names and equally traditional.
I think Sam sounds quite short and modern in comparison with Olivia.
Thomas works equally well.
I really liked Felix myself, but received uncertain looks if I ever brought it up!

Thanks tummytickler, I do love George the best personally. We are not sure whether George goes as well with the surname as the others though, as the surname has a similar 'ge' sound in the middle of it... :/

How about James?

Sam would probably be Samuel on the bc, but Sam in daily life and is liked as its so easy to use frequently.

William does go very nicely, but there are concerns that it would become too much to say? I know there is the nn Will, William is preferred over this but Olivia does get Liv quite a lot.

Felix will forever be linked to 'the cat' for me!! :(

Already 2 in the family! Nice choice though- James my favourite name for v obvious reasons! ;)

Ooh that's hard, I think they are all lovely names. If I had to choose I would go for Olivia and George OR Olivia and Thomas.

Martin or Anthony go nicely with Olivia I think

George - great :)
William - sounds a bit similar to Olivia... too much L and I and both three syllables.
Sam - OK
Felix - great but the two together give quite a posh impression, is that OK with you?
Theo - nice
Thomas - OK

Olivia is on my shortlist if we have a girl. We have two boys already, Harrison and George. William is on the shortlist if we have another boy. All three go lovely with Olivia IMO
