What do you think ladies?

Dp has been banging on about this for weeks, and I think it's growing on me.

It's better than his other suggestions... Do I kinda like it just because it's the best of a bad bunch, or is it actually quite nice (if you like American-y names!)??

Depends on the surname I think. It could sound good, but then it could sound like a third-rate country singer. It made me think of Slash :)

LetThereBeRock · 09/12/2010 12:19

It's awful.

What were his other suggestions if I may ask?

tummytickler · 09/12/2010 12:25

Not keen I am afraid.

Why not just Sonny? I like Sonny but Hudson is awful.

MaryMungo · 09/12/2010 12:37

This

Bucharest · 09/12/2010 12:38

Dreadful.
Sonny is marginally better.
But I'd go back to the drawing board if I were you.

sunshineleah · 09/12/2010 13:01

Oh lord!

His other suggestions have been Indianna(sp?!) Valentino, and a few others of similar ilk. I'm really not loving them! And he is not loving my suggestions either... (Along the lines of Bill - after my Grandfather - Maxwell, Seth etc)

I do like Sonny, but only as a nn really - also does not 'flow' well with our (v.unusual!) surname.

Bucharest, I thought as much!! Think I am liking it as it is the best of the options he has mooted and I don't want to veto everything he suggests!!

OOps! Sorry, not sure how I managed to post that twice...

Well, I know 2 Indiannas, one adult and one child, both female, so definately not that one.
Valentino, no. But I would say the best of a bad bunch!
I think you need to go back to the drawing board. You say you don't want to veto all of his choices, but surely he vetoes all of yours.
There must be something else he likes, surely!

Lovethesea · 09/12/2010 14:26

I don't like Sonny, not even as a nickname, it just sounds patronising to me .... 'come here sonny boy'. Probably just me though! Lots of people like it.

Hudson- it's ok in a surname for name kind of way ... do you have any connection with the Hudson River? How does it go with your surname?

missnatalie · 09/12/2010 17:12

DP likes the name Hudson but im not too keen. We met a Hudson whilst on holiday in Cyprus. He was a lovely little boy but everytime i spoke to him i thought of Doc Hudson out of Disney Cars film.

QwertyQueen · 09/12/2010 17:14

I LOVE the name Hudson!
sounds quite masculine I think

Not keen on Sonny

IWouldNotCouldNotWithAGoat · 09/12/2010 17:18

I hate it. Sorry!

sunshineleah · 09/12/2010 18:22

MissNatalie I think that's where he got his inspiration from lol!

Lovethesea hmmm, I had totally forgotten about the river connection... Not sure I could bring myself to use it as our surname has a water connection (also the reason I have given up on Noah!)

ShoppingDays · 09/12/2010 20:06

It's a bridge and a surname. Not keen, sorry.

JamieLeeCurtis · 09/12/2010 20:45

I'm not at all keen, sorry

What about:

Evan
Asa
Haydn
Luca
Jude/Judah
Vincent/Vinnie
Victor

Tolalola · 09/12/2010 20:51

Yuck. Sorry.

AbFabT · 09/12/2010 20:57

Like it a lot! Just asked DH and so does he - so that's two yeses here!

kreecherlivesupstairs · 10/12/2010 11:27

Horrible. Both names are horrible.

MelinaM · 10/12/2010 22:33

No, no and no!!!! I really like your choices sunshineleah Will, Seth etc... lovely names! Has he suggested anything else that's remotely useable yet? What about family names on his side, and he fancies ...and you too! Tis a dilemma indeed!!! Keep us posted! xoxox

I thought of Slash as well.
But Saul is quite nice?
