I love that name.

MelinaM · 26/11/2010 23:48

I like it, I've a friend called Farrah, suite him rather well! ...Fawcett does come to mind thoughGrin

MelinaM · 26/11/2010 23:48

...obv mean suits!

southeastastra · 26/11/2010 23:49

also casual trouser brand

reddaisy · 26/11/2010 23:50

Lovely

onimolap · 26/11/2010 23:52

I like it. Isn't it Persian?

The Fawcett-Majors association will probably linger for a while longer - not least because of THAT poster.

NotanOtter · 26/11/2010 23:56

i love it.... knew one years ago
really lovely

typsical · 26/11/2010 23:57

I was thinking of it as a girl's name... like Fawcett! :) Is it a boy's as well MelinaM ? And is it better with double 'r' or just the one, I can't decide..? reddaisy I'm liking your nickname! I have a beautiful little girl called Daisy... she is a shih tzu Grin but I'm intrigued as to where the 'red' bit comes from...

And such good feedback! If only Granddad could pronounce his 'r's! :) It'll have to be a middle! x

stay pressed trousers and Charlie's Angels

usualsuspect · 27/11/2010 00:06

No just no

exexpat · 27/11/2010 00:16

I have a niece in the middle east called Farah - quite a popular name there I think. But if you don't have any arab connections people might think you were thinking of Charlie's Angels (though she's spelt Farrah).

slacks

reddaisy · 27/11/2010 00:39

Typsical - thanks. That's the first compliment my nickname has had on here Grin

My daughter's name is Scarlett hence the red and I like the name Daisy so I went for it! Farah sounds really classy IMO. If you went for it, your DD's peers wouldn't have even heard of Farah Fawcett.

reddaisy · 27/11/2010 00:40

I like one R. Go for it as a first name, it's so different.

typsical · 27/11/2010 00:50

I think I prefer it with the one 'r', but I think it would have to be a MN unfortunately because it wouldn't be fair to Granddad (who struggles with the 'r' sound!) :(

I love Scarlett and Daisy and it stood out to me because when I considered the name Olivia, my friend (who is half Italian) suggested Olivia Bianca, which would mean 'white olive'. So wrong, yet so right!! IYKWIM?! x

I wouldn't chose it myself, but do actually really like it. Pretty, but not common.

MelinaM · 27/11/2010 20:52

Yes, Farrah John ... is 25 now, so not a modern monika! His sister's called NevankaHmm
I think it looks much nicer spelt Farah ..for a girl anyway!

Hedwig3 · 27/11/2010 20:54

Mmm... I think I like it.
