I like it - though it does remind me of a Fat Lady.

It's a lovely classic old-fashioned name.

MelinaM · 20/11/2010 00:52

Clarissa explains it all! Lol, it's a little American sounding for me I'm afraidHmm
I agree, Clara's just lovely! x

AphraBen · 20/11/2010 01:22

Its a very very very long book, CLARISSA. Believe its British not American.

saffy85 · 20/11/2010 08:42

I automatically thought of "Clarissa explains it all". Not a bad thing, was great a series imo. Even if some of Clarissa's outfits were a bit Hmm was the early 90's though...

serin · 20/11/2010 21:38

Gorgeous

MrsColumbo · 20/11/2010 21:50

Nice name, but she'll have to have long blonde hair and wear floaty white dresses and run through poppy fields.

Rach109 · 20/11/2010 23:15

Not keen
but Clara is lovely

MerryMarigold · 20/11/2010 23:20

Clarissa Bean?

Don't really like it...but my dd's name ends in 'issa' so I should!

snowmummy · 21/11/2010 20:17

I really like it

pointydog · 21/11/2010 20:19

Too fussy.

Much much prefer Clara.

taffetacat · 21/11/2010 20:23

Its Clarice Bean, and Clarice is Amerian, Clarissa is actually Latin/Greek, but to me, quite quintessentailly English.

Its a lovely name, one of the ones I wanted for DD that DH vetoed.

typsical · 21/11/2010 20:33

'Clarissa explains it all' for me too! Hmm

Dolittlest · 21/11/2010 20:34

Bit fussy.

Clara is lovely.

MerryMarigold · 21/11/2010 20:40

Oh Clarice! Generally don't prefer American things, but I do prefer Clarice to Clarissa.

taffetacat · 21/11/2010 22:01

Clarice - I always think of Silence of the Lambs, "Oh, Clariiiiice...."

DanceInTheDark · 21/11/2010 22:04
