Hi all. I have been on here a couple of times already so hopefully, this will be the last time that I need to pick your brains. After many hours of discussions me and DH have finally got it down to two girls names. Our surname sounds like kind. The two names we have chosen are:

Felicity

or

Annabelle

What do you think of these names and which do you prefer?

Thanks Grin

They both have lovely nickname possibilities, but I have a soft spot for Felicity.

lilly13 · 13/11/2010 09:18

I prefer Felicity. It seems more feminine and not as common as Annabelle.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 13/11/2010 09:22

Felicity for me too.

yama · 13/11/2010 09:27

Yes, agree with Felicity.

expectingno3 · 13/11/2010 10:04

Ooh it'd be Annabelle for me. Annabelle is lovely for a child, and Anna is elegant for an older girl / woman.

LouMacca · 13/11/2010 10:31

Annabelle. Not that common and much prettier than Felicity imo.

Rhubarbgarden · 13/11/2010 10:51

Felicity

ThatllDoPig · 13/11/2010 11:29

I'd definately got for Annabelle. Really pretty, unusualish, lots of options to shorten. I think Felicity sounds spoilt, but thats just me.

WhyMeWhyNot · 13/11/2010 11:35

Got to be Felicity. Annabelle getting more popular now but Felicity sounds pretty as it rolls off the tongue.

diddl · 13/11/2010 12:06

Felicity.

dont like annabelle. love felicity

sensiblesusannigella · 13/11/2010 13:35

Annabelle but spelt Annabel. Lots of possibilities for nicknames. Annabelle is trying too hard and would be often spelt wrong I think.

Montifer · 13/11/2010 15:32

Prefer Annabel, with nn possibilities of Anna, Annie and Bel, all lovely names IMHO.

mathanxiety · 13/11/2010 20:24

Annabel, spelled without the extra 'LE', which makes it look just a bit on the frilly side imo. Felicity is just way too fay for me, whereas Annabel has a less wispy yet still very feminine sound.

Duffstuff · 13/11/2010 20:25

After looking at the name Annabelle again, I think I do prefer the less fussier spelling of the name as in Annabel - thanks for pointing that out ladies. It is so difficult chooseing a name. I love both names equally and for different reasons Hmm

Always think Annabelle is a fat girls name.

Sorry!

pointydog · 13/11/2010 20:40

I prefer Felicity because I really do not like Annabelle and there is an excellent Ornage Juice song 'Felicity'.

Linnet · 13/11/2010 20:41

Felicity,I love it and if I was ever to have a third dd that is what she would be called.

Komondor · 15/11/2010 13:29

Felicity

Komondor · 15/11/2010 13:30

If you've changed the spelling to Annabel, then it's a tie. Sorry, I just dont like the Annabelle spelling.

muminthemiddle · 15/11/2010 23:54

I like both and think they are very similar names.

Make sure if you choose Annabelle that the initial A is ok with your surname for example do not use Anabelle if your surname is Pratt. On this basis I am inclined to say Felicity.

MelinaM · 16/11/2010 00:14

Definitely FelicitySmile Lovely name for a little lady!

Duffstuff · 16/11/2010 10:11

Thankyou so much for all your feedback. Felicity is definately winning for me at the moment Wink. Another name I like that has a totally different feel to it is Seren or Serena. Any opinions on those???
