What do you think?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Mitchymum · 01/11/2010 19:03

I think there is a brand of mop called Vida.

Sorry :(

Rhubarbgarden · 01/11/2010 19:06

I think of Livin La Vida Loca.

pintyblud · 01/11/2010 19:06

Vileda?

I don't like it. Reminds me of 'empty' which isn't nice.

pintyblud · 01/11/2010 19:06

ah, so it means life as well? So a forrin version of Eve?

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 01/11/2010 19:09

I don't like it, it reminds me of a cleaning product, sorry.

SpiderWilliam · 01/11/2010 19:09

Prefer Vita which has the same meaning I assume (I'm no linguist though). I like the simplicity and meaning of both.

crumpet · 01/11/2010 19:10

Yep, Ricky Martin came to mind for me too.

WingDad · 01/11/2010 19:12

Viva la Vida too!

MunchMummy · 01/11/2010 19:13

mops here

hester · 01/11/2010 19:13

I like it. And Vita.

GiganGORE · 01/11/2010 19:14

i went to school with a girl named wida, it was pronounced Vida.

to me it isn't unusual.

I think she was iranian

Tillyscoutsmum · 01/11/2010 19:15

My hair salon is called Vida ...

Sounds a bit too much like Vera for my liking

Silkstalkings · 01/11/2010 19:46

Prefer it to Vita which sounds so chemical/biological.

Faaamily · 01/11/2010 20:53

Never heard the word used as a name before, but I like it. Vita is nice, too.

lilly13 · 01/11/2010 21:28

i think it is too simple... never heard this name. if it has a family and/or cultural significance to you, then definitely go for it!

christabell · 02/11/2010 12:58

It makes me think of VD, which would put me off a bit. Vita is slightly better, though does sound like a combination of Rita and Vera, hence very Coronation Street! Sorry to be a bit negative.

scubamummy · 02/11/2010 13:23

like

Tidey · 02/11/2010 13:25

Reminded me of Veta from the film Harvey for some reason. Vida does look a bit cleaning producty. Sorry.

bensonbutnohedges · 02/11/2010 19:33

How would you pronounce it? There was a girl at my school called Vida to rhyme with spider, whereas I always think Veeda.

mummyrex · 02/11/2010 19:53

sorry, I also thought of a disease...

PurpleKate · 02/11/2010 20:46

My great aunt was called Vida (shortened from Davida), pronouned Vee-da, and she was an amazing feisty woman. Go for it.

teafortwo · 02/11/2010 20:52

Hmmm, yeah - it is nice... I'd say cute for a girl, cool for a teenager and very sexy for a woman. What more could a girl ask for from a name???

SkylineDrifter · 02/11/2010 22:00

I like it. The main character in a book I just read (Second Hand Heart, get it in Tescos) was called Vida.

GeorgeOsborne · 02/11/2010 22:01

I prefer Vita for life, but Vida good too

Rocketbird · 02/11/2010 22:02

Ricky Martin...
