Really this is because after 3 children together we just got married at the weekend and we are expecting he 4th in April. My maiden name was Ferguson so it's a small way of nearly keeping it alive!!
Slightly worried though that everyone will view child as very middle class with ruddy cheeks and orange hair!! What do you think?
I like Finn too but think that is now quite popular.
We have 3 girls so far so quite likely to be another girl but this thread is just incase!!

How about Ferdia, Fiach, or Fiacra, Irish names, easy to pronounce (FER-dee-a, FEE-uch [ch as in Scottish loch] FEE-uh-cra). Or Fintan.

ShowOfBloodyStumps · 30/10/2010 22:48

Finn is popular but only because of Fin/Finn/Finlay/Finley/Finegan/Finnian/Fintan etc. You add them all up, there are quite a lot of Finns.

But it's a really lovely name. Smile

I like it and think it's Scottish not middle class. I don't see the 'Fungus' thing...you have to change 2 letters and the whole sound of the word, it doesn't even rhyme!

molfingus · 31/10/2017 12:30

I love it! And we share similar tastes I have a Finn and a Fergus!

BabloHoney · 31/10/2017 12:48

Don't think it's middle class at all! I always thought it was scottish not Irish? I love Scottish boys names. Congrats on your baby x

Just for Halloween - a ZOMBIE thread!!

sukitea · 31/10/2017 18:44

Not MC but the 3 Fergus' I know are all red headed and ruddy cheeked (Irish)

MikeUniformMike · 31/10/2017 19:49

I like it.

Joinourclub · 31/10/2017 20:21

I don't think its particularly MC. I really like Gus as a nn, though I prefer Angus to Fergus.

dementedfraggle · 31/10/2017 20:22

My OH is called Fergus. Just asked him if he was ever referred to as Fungus & he replied “just the once, he never said it again Wink

Joinourclub · 31/10/2017 20:23

Ah! Fergus/Finn must be nearly 7!!

RaindropsAndSparkles · 31/10/2017 20:29

Wondered why Seeker was on thread.

MyWhatICallNameChange · 31/10/2017 20:56

Ignore your husband, Fergus is a lovely name.

LTB WinkGrin and name your child Fergus.

bridgetreilly · 31/10/2017 20:56

I love Fergus! I always suggest it to people here and I'd love it if someone actually used it.

SuperBeagle · 31/10/2017 22:06

The Fergus I know is firmly working class.

The other Fergus I know is a British shorthair cat.

I don't like it.
