Aeran... Boy or Girl? Pronounciation?

Someone I know (not very well) wants to name her soon to be Ds this.

I thought it was a welsh girls name but I maybe wrong.

Also how do you pronounce it. I asked someone today and they reckon it would be pronounced Eran. Like Erin but with an 'a' not an 'i'.

Is that right?

I thought it was a girls name, it's a form of Erin I think.

The one I knew was a girl who pronounced Air - on.

There is the name Aeron which is unisex I think, could it be that?

Flojo1979 · 19/10/2010 21:44

I know of a couple of boys called this its pronounced Air-on and is a form of Arron.

spiderlight · 19/10/2010 21:45

In Welsh it would be promounced more like EYE-ron.

DD2 has the middle name of Aeryn

Well, either way. It's a good job we're not close friends. Could be a bit confusing with my ds being called Arran. Lol.

See I quite like the sound of the pronunciation Eran but not Air-ron (which is why my ds is called Arran)

Confused yet? Confused

Better double check the spelling though before I write out the card.
