Boys first names to go with middle name Dixie?

I've posted before re DH and I being poles apart on boy's names. He likes good old biblical names, nothing flouncy, and I like well, more modern, flouncy names!
DH is a passionate Evertonian, and after much googling, I found the name Dixie. Dixie Dean was Evertons most capped player in the 20's. Richard was also the name of my late brother, so all quite appropriate there. So any ideas for first names?
I don't even know what I'm having, but we don't have such a problem with the girls names.

I love Jude. I wanted it for years but my friend nicked it for her son.

Sorry! Just got his out of office reply! Might have to wait till tomorrow. To be honest, even if he was at his desk, I expect I would've got a 'I have far more important things to do' reply, thus making me feel guilty for going on mumsnet during the day.

expectingno3 you are planning your child's name. It is highly important and you are very busy. Repeat as necessary Grin

ha ha! I am now having my lunch, so can almost justify going on the computer as part of my lunch break. I keep checking - nothing, sorry.

Ok, he rang back, slightly pissed off, wondering why on earth needed to know his definitive list at 12.40 of a monday, but still. Its not the biggest list in the world:
Ben
Francis
Anthony
James
Daniel

I know they're nice, solid names, I just hoped we'd be able to call a boy something a bit more funky.

Oh dear, not much we can do with those! What did he think of Christopher/Kit and Jude?

SoupDragon · 18/10/2010 12:54

Ben short for Benedict?

SoupDragon · 18/10/2010 12:55

Anthony is a pet hate of mine. Makes my teeth itch.

I knew you were going to ask me that, and I bloody forgot to ask about Kit. he din't object entirely to Jude. Just texted him, but I really am skating on thin ice here and fully expecting a 'bugger off with your rediculous requests' response. I will get back to you whenever I hear.

The only ones I would contemplate are Ben, and Daniel at a push. Daniel Dixie is silly, Benjamin Dixie is ok.

I'm going to have to go myself now. 2 hours on Mumsnet, I am ashamed of myself. Off to teach yr 5 kids how to sew North American headbands for cultural Diversity month. Far more productive...

Thank you for all the responses. I've never had so many. You've all been very helpful!
