I'm due in 2 weeks and am bored so thought I'd find out if others have decided ... We are still arguing debating over names Grin

Only 2 weeks, you lucky thing, i've got 8 weeks left and fed up of waiting now.

If baby had been a girl she would have been Miranda, i also lived Violet and Verity.

Baby is a boy though and looks like he'll be a Callum as my husbands set on it. I also really liked Rhys, James and Liam.

Good luck deciding Smile

I am due in 2 weeks too! What are your options? We don't have much to go on yet as DP hates all of name choices as they are pretentious "bully me" names apparently!

Unforunately he has no suggestions of his own. I have stopped mentioning it as I figure by default we will have to go with one of my choices eventually. Boys names are the major issue for us. Do you know whether you are having a boy or a girl?

I like...
Reuben
Rafferty
Jasper
Herbie
Jude
Iggy (Ignacius)
Arthur
amongst others

&

Matilda
Clementine
Esme
Esther
Agatha
Iris
amongst many more...

The only ones DP can even say without laughing are Matilda and Herbie. But neither of us are sure about Herbie as it is a nickname and we dislike Herbert!

Our baby is due on Saturday and we don't know the sex - for a boy we are sorted and he's going to be Edward (also liked Patrick), but we have found girls' names difficult and have got it down to a shortlist, final name to be picked post-birth. She will be Alice, Abigail or Emilia. I love Lucia and would use that, but there are too many different ways to pronounce it (I would go for Loo-sha but there's also Loo-chee-a and Loo-see-a) and I don't want her going through life having to say "actually, it's..."

I Love Alice! but we know one

I think we're going to go for Sophia. But I also really love Esme!

Our girls list:

Dulcie
Naomi
Tessa

Boys list:

Harry
Reuben
Edward (nn Ted)

We cannot agree.

The issues with the girls name are: I love Tessa, dh not keen. Dh loves Dulcie, I worry not enough people will have heard of it and think it's a new made up name. Naomi is a name we both like I'm not completely sure.

Boys issues: We both love Ted but dh not keen on Edward, and I don't want to use Theo as we are from the Thames estuary area and have the problem of 'th' being pronounced as 'F'. So Theo becomes Feo. Harry has issues of being used in the distant family, so may seem like we are copying. Reuben is my favourite buy dh thinks it may be too Jewish.

The thing that actual stops me from choosing is that I cannot use my favourite names. Albert (after my dad) would love to have a little Albie running around but dh detests it and won't even consider it. Also love Sophia and Juliet but they clash with family names. My favourite ever girls names is Rosa but our surname males it sound like Rosalie so cannot use it.

There is also the problem of dh who seems to veto every 5 out of 6 names I mention.
