Does this sound a bit of a mouthful??

My 2 year old boy is called Oliver, currently pregnant with a my 2nd boy....and seriously considering Joseph. Firstly do these names go together eventhough one name is biblical and the other isn't. Also do you think it sounds a bit of a mouthful with 2 long names?

They sound fine together and will probably get shortened to Ollie and Joe anyway.

Not at all, they are fine names Smile

cool....so you don't think they sound a bit boring?

Sounds good to me...

NoTeaForMe · 14/10/2010 16:28

Not boring at all, I think they are both lovely names and go perfectly together. Neither of them are that long to be honest.

MyMamaToldMe · 14/10/2010 16:43

nice strong boy names - lovely :)

oh thank you. You know what its so great talking to you guys about names (I know we are all complete strangers to each other) as I really feel I can't keep going on about baby names with family/friends anymore as think there is only so much they can take LOL

Great names for two boys.

GivesHeadlessHorseman · 14/10/2010 17:03

Nope. They are both good staple classics, and they sound great together.

KateF · 14/10/2010 17:05

I know a pair of brothers called Oliver and Joseph (Joe) - sounds fine to me

mathanxiety · 14/10/2010 19:25

Lovely names, and not a bit boring, and they sound so nice together. They're both old names too, and have a long history back to Norman times in Britain, so the fact that one is Biblical and one is not doesn't matter, imo.

Silkstalkings · 14/10/2010 21:08

Perfectly normal names and not long either. They are v common round my way (Hampshire) but that means nobody will bat an eyelid, certainly won't think 'Gosh that's a boring name.'

sleepyhorse · 14/10/2010 21:33

Thanks for all your comments - yep think they go lovely together don't they.

I do like Noah and Jake too...its so stressful trying to make a decision as really don't want to be regretting it months afterwards as there are so many gorgeous boys names to choose from!

I know they are all popular names but that doesn't really bother me, I'd rather go for something I know I like. (Don't think I'd be brave enough anyway to go for something to wacky/different just in case I got it wrong and then poor kid has got to live with it)

Really like them

jellybeans · 14/10/2010 22:03

Great choice, sounds good.

Ineedsomesleep · 15/10/2010 08:57

Sonds fine to me. They will be known to most people as Ollie and Jo anyway.
