Just no

exexpat · 29/10/2010 22:36

I know a 7-year-old Audrey - was my friend ahead of the times?

The three associations Audrey had for me before that were Hepburn, Little Shop of Horrors, and my old English teacher. Never heard of Audrey Roberts.

Think it's probably ripe for revival.

Or maybe really really behind exexpat? Wink

gregtheguineapig · 29/10/2010 22:42

Audrey is lovely, elegant and sophisticated.

QueenOfTheNight · 29/10/2010 22:49

No, it really isn't. It's ugly and old fashioned.

5DollarShake · 30/10/2010 07:20

I am more sure than ever that Audrey is on the rise. [hsmile]

Rhubarbgarden · 30/10/2010 07:33

Nooooooooo

PartialToACupOfMilo · 30/10/2010 23:15

I like it, but only when pronounced a bit French, like O-drey instead or Or-drey and I think unfortunately most people would pronounce it Or-drey and think you were pretentious for wanting O-drey - as I may be ... Wink

MerryMarigold · 30/10/2010 23:20

I prefer Audrey to Beatrice, but it does have a bit of an 'awful' sound to it, not the prettiest sounding name. Awful Audrey, oh dear.

MerryMarigold · 30/10/2010 23:21

Awful and Dreary!

(But not as dreary as Beatrice Wink)

MuffinMouse · 30/10/2010 23:22

It's lovely and not as common as Beatrice. Whatever is posted here about it being old fashioned will be totally irrelevant as she grows. I never thought anyone would call their baby Mabel (the joke old lady name when I was a kid) but sure enough, Mabel is growing in popularity where I live.. Anyway Audrey is far more elegant than Mabel. And there are probably daft tv/media/literary comparisons to make of any name. Go for it!

BiscuitBob · 04/11/2010 09:21

Just noticed this thread. I've been thinking of Audrey myself, Bagabee! Think its a lovely name, very elegant. I think of Audrey Hepburn, Audrey Tatou and Audrey from twin peaks. Love it!

Those who thinks it ugly are wrong, wrong wrong!

Not so keen on Beatrice though.
