Quinn = female cheerleader from Glee.

Isaac - nice
Louis - nice
Zac - bit 90s? (reminds me of Saved by the Bell)
Jake - bit of a chavvy name where I come from.
Finn - nice.

Tippychoocks · 03/10/2010 17:46

Finn or Fionn, very nice. Jake and Isaac both nice too. Louis and Zac, not so much. I second the saved by the bell association!
Off to look for your choices now...
Oh I missed Quinn. No, think of having The Mighty Quinn song in your head for evermore.

cece · 03/10/2010 17:55

Issac - OK
Louis - quite popular
Zac - Ok but makes me think of hippies. LOL
Quinn - NO!
Jake - best on the list
Finn - very very popular but nice

Like Isaac, Louis and Zac (although Zac could be nn for Isaac as well). Don't like Quinn, Jake or Finn. But like Jacob.

saucetastic · 03/10/2010 18:09

Still prefer your ones. Your Dhs names are nice, but very of the moment. They'll be pinpointed to 2007-2012. Which is fine. But...meh...

Totallyfloaty35 · 03/10/2010 18:52

Why thankyou Saucetastic, what a wonderful person you are Grin

I can't find your other thread OP, am I being thick?

WinkyWinkola · 03/10/2010 20:01

They're nice names, TotallyFloaty35.

Quinn is the best one. Or Quincy like Quincy Jones.

The others are really really popular at the moment.

ValiumSingleton · 03/10/2010 20:06

Quinn = an Irish sur name to me. Reminds me of supermarkets tbh. SuperQuinn, Quinnsworth and Quinn Insurance. Bonkers choice from where I'm standing.
Isaac - I like it
Louis - I like it but I prefer Leo
Zac - ok, but I would use Zachary in full. Zac is too Zac Ephron.

Jake - I like it but again, I'd use Jacob rather than Jake tbh. Zachary and Jacob sound great but Jake and Zac have a differnt feel.

Finn - ok, but there are a lot of them and I think in years to come they will all turn out to have been born between 2006 and 2011.

Totallyfloaty35 · 03/10/2010 20:23

I have bumped my other thread.
Issac i quite like,Louis i quite like.
Quinn im not sure about and the others are so over used now but nice enough.
I still prefer my choices even if 90% of mumsnet disagrees.

Orlando is a great name.

rachel234 · 03/10/2010 21:18

I love Quinn (so much nicer and less common than Finn).

Louis is nice too. Not keen on the others.

BalloonSlayer · 03/10/2010 21:24

If you can't spell Isaac you shouldn't even consider it.

To my mind, Quinn means "one of five" so anyone who calls their child that who hasn't got four other kids is an ignoramus. Although prepared for it to be me who is the ignoramus Grin

sophiesmummie · 03/10/2010 21:26

Issac - like it
Louis - ok
Zac - Don't like - sounds harsh
Quinn - love it
Jake - a little common
Finn - too popular

Totallyfloaty35 · 03/10/2010 21:42

Balloon, Issac is a variant of Isaac and means Laughter, so ner ner to you......however i did just spell Isaac wrong in the first place Blush but i should get away with it as its not my choice.
As for Quinn i'm not keen on it, but yes i do already have a lot of children Wink

sophiesmummie · 03/10/2010 22:00

Balloon, Quinn comes from the original and Irish name Ó Cuinn, ie descendants of Conn. It means wisdom or counsel.

You're might be mixing it up with the latin word Quintus (fifth). Names derived from this include Quentin.

But, I know several Quentins and Octavias who aren't necessarilly the fifth i.e. eightth child in the family. Don't think meanings matter that much personally.
