Struggling with girls names. We both think we like this one - its not too common but not too wierd. BUT will everyone (over 30) go "Heidi-hi" - ha hah ha or start yode youdel yodell...oh however you spell it - yodelling?

or is it just cute?

How about Heike. Sounds similar and is a German girls name.

Heike is pronounced High-ke, whereas Heidi is pronounced Haigh-dee, so not really the same in German.

I don't like either pronounced in English.

I love Heike, and Silke, but Heidi sounds incredibly old-fashioned to me, and makes me think of goats.
