What do you think of Keziah as a girl's name? It's listed on Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder.

I like it. Kezia (no h) is nice too. old testament, isn't it?

stillbobbysgirl · 27/09/2010 11:26

Don't like it sorry - sounds like a name of a medicine or something?!

PaigeTurner · 27/09/2010 11:45

I like it, knew one girl with that name, but also a German Shepherd, which kind of put me off.

BuntyPenfold · 27/09/2010 11:56

I like it; there used to be a nice book about a little girl named Kizzy/Keziah.

GrumbleBee · 27/09/2010 12:18

That book... The Diddakoi, by Rumer Godden? Loved it! :)

I think it's a lovely name, but don't like Kizzy so much (which was her nickname in the book).

Is it KEEziah, or keZYah?

rachel234 · 27/09/2010 12:21

Lovely.

B52s · 27/09/2010 12:39

Awful.

DandyDan · 27/09/2010 14:51

I like it. Keziah was one of Job's three daughters in the OT. Shortened to Kizzy. I remember it from The Diddakoi and also from Alex Haley's "Roots".

rachxx · 27/09/2010 15:54

i like it

mathanxiety · 27/09/2010 16:42

Love it.

minipie · 27/09/2010 16:45

Saw your other thread - I have to say I much prefer Miriam to Keziah (I think Keziah has a bit of an ugly sound, like Hepzibah).

Bue · 27/09/2010 16:48

Love it.

GrumbleBee, it's pronounced keZYah. (Sort of rhymes with desire.)

Lovethesea · 27/09/2010 16:48

I wanted it on our shortlist, but DH vetoed it as too unusual.

I still like it a lot but was concerned it would end up as Kez and I wasn't sure I liked the image that put in my head as much.

I would have liked it as a middle name still though Smile

dexifehatz · 27/09/2010 16:59

my name is Kerry and my mom used to call me Keziah as a kind of petname. I love it!

DaisyDaresYOU · 28/09/2010 15:37

Nope dont like.sorry.

Greensleeves · 28/09/2010 15:38

it means cinnamon flower

onepieceoflollipop · 28/09/2010 15:42

I have heard it pronounced "kez-ee-ah" or "kez-I-ah"

I'm not a fan of names with z but that is just a personal opinion.

Yes, it will get shorted to Kez.

Greensleeves · 28/09/2010 15:42

It can be shortened to Kizzy

I know a little Kizzy, she has white-blonde corkscrew curls and is very cheeky

it suits her

GooseyLoosey · 28/09/2010 15:43

Not for me - it sounds made up (even though I know it's not)
