we have no idea of the sex, but are very good at agreeing on boy's names, not so good on girl's. I like the type of name above, a bit ethereal, but short (although don't mind long if it was the perfect one), not keen on irish names, although don't mind welsh/french. Any ideas?

You could have a look at Breton names, they are very similar to Welsh ones, and often have quite an ethereal sound to them.

Somebody on here once suggested Wren, which I think is pretty and of the type you suggest.
